John Vernon is the author of four novels, All for Love, Peter
Doyle (both Simon & Schuster), LaSalle, and Lindbergh's Son (both
Penguin) along with several books of scholarship and poetry. He
earned a B.A. from Boston College, and an M.A. and Ph.D. from
the University of California at Davis and is a recipient of the
Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Research. Vernon has received
fellowships from the New York State Council on the Arts and the
National Endowment for the Arts. He is Distinguished Professor
of English at the State University of New York at Binghamton.
