Donald W. Faulkner
Donald W. Faulkner has published two collections of poems,
At Dunkard Creek and In Dyers Wood, and edited four books of writings
by eminent literary critic Malcolm Cowley, including The Portable
Malcolm Cowley (Penguin), The Penguin 20th Century Classics edition
of Exile's Return, and New England Writers and Writing (University
Press of New England). His work has appeared in publications as
diverse as Vanity Fair and Sewanee Review, and he appeared as
a featured commentator in the A&E Biography/Crisman Films production,
The Lost Generation. Faulkner has worked as a writer-in-residence
at the Connecticut Hospice and has taught creative writing and
literature at Yale University. He has been recipient of the Connecticut
Commission on the Arts Award for writing and fellowships and awards
from The Newberry Library, The Connecticut Humanities Council,
the National Endowment for the Humanities, The Danforth Foundation,
and the Society for Values in Higher Education. Faulkner is Associate
Professor of English and Theatre at the University of Albany and
the director of the New York State Writers Institute.
